I would suggest that you not go directly to fat transfer. A good option, rather, would be a commercial filler such as Juvederm. This would give you an opportunity to participate in the decision process as the filler is injected. You can then determine if you like what you see and then consider something perhaps more permanent such as fat. Caution should be exercised with fat placement in the lips at a young age. Remember, fat that's placed in the lips can enlarge with weight gain just like with fat anywhere else in your body. A potential troublesome scenario could be even temporary weight gain with pregnancy.
Hello!Fat transfer is a good option for lip augmentation. It is permanent and is a small procedure that may be performed under local anesthesia. Other options include use of over the counter fillers which typically do not last longer than 6 months to a year. If you can at least achieve results with filler, you and your provider can better prepare for a desired result with fat transfer. Be sure to see a board certified plastic surgeon whom you can find on plasticsurgery.org. Have a great day!
Yes, fat transfer technique is what is important for successful fat transfer. I recommend water-assisted fat harvesting which gives pure fat to transfer and combine with platelet rich plasma (PRP) to get the most viable and sustainable fat cells. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with an expert. Best, Dr. Emer
Anytype of volume or contour asymmetry of the lip can be corrected or at least improved. You may wish to consult a board certified plastic surgeon with sufficient experience to help you with this minor flaw.
JoyfulMama. It appears from your photographs that you may benefit from a Lip Augmentation utilizing fat grafting technique. Studies have shown that at least 50% of fat grafted to the face lasts permanently. Prices for this procedure very from city to city, and costs in New York City range from $2500-$5000. I recommend that you consult with a board-certified plastic surgeon in your region to give yourself the best chance for optimal results. Good luck.
Hello and thank you for your question. Thebest advice you can receive is from an in-person consultation. I recommend a filler such as juvederm for lip augmentation rather than fat transfer. Fillers are safer for the lips and can have a more natural look. This decision shouldbe based on a detailed discussion with equal input from both youand your surgeon. Make sure you specifically lookat before and after pictures of real patients who have had this surgeryperformed by your surgeon and evaluate their results. The mostimportant aspect is to find a surgeon you are comfortable with. I recommendthat you seek consultation with a qualified board-certified plastic surgeon whocan evaluate you in person.Best wishes and good luck.Richard G. Fortunately you look okay. But I have rarely seen a patient who had fat grafting to the face and thought it was worthwhile m. Many surgeons perform fat grafting during a facelift. Costs a lot more but does nothing in my opinion.
Once you have atrophy the only option is lasers and fillers. These can be improved with a combination of surgery and/or lasers and microneedling/prp. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a scarring expert. Best, Dr. Emer
If the Bellafill was placed at the subcutaneous level, 5 FU should not damage the implant. However it could potentially increase the chances of infection. Discuss it with your board certified plastic surgeon. Best wishes.
