Can Botox in the forehead and glabella effect the nose shape or cause heavy feeling in tip of nose?

Yes Botox in heavy doses to the glabellar area and forehead can cause drooping of the inner brow and some drooping of the nose, This depends on how much is injected and where the injections are placed.It is also common when the bridge of the nose is injected and botox migrates to the nasalis muscles.Hope this helps

Thank you for your question. It is normal at this stage after the treatment with botox, to have some heaviness of the eyebrows and of the glabella. However this should not in any way make your nose feeling heavy or changing shape. Many patients, upon receiving a Botox treatment for the first time, will feel new sensations that are described as “heavy”, or “drooping”. However, these feelings typically subside after about a week or two. Once the Botox lightens up, the feeling in the tip of your nose should subside.

Botox in the glabella and forehead would have no effect on the nasal tip.  The heaviness at the medial brow area is probably related to your botox injections.  Many patients notice a different feeling in their upper face with botox and most get used to it easily.

I try to talk patients out of simply injecting the forhead and not the glabella.  In your case you had both but have not stated how much you had in each area.  This is very important and my be related to why you are having these effects.  When you botox wears off, these issues will resolved if they are due to the botox.

When Botox is injected correctly, it should not cause these side effects. However, if the needle is placed in the wrong spot or the dosage isn’t right, you can experience symptoms like these. The good news is that if the side effects are due to the Botox, your effects should subside within three to four months. At that time, I recommend looking for a board-certified dermatologist who is also an expert Botox injector for better results your next time around.

I'm sorry to hear about your concerns after Botox. Sometimes if there's too much Botox injected above your brows, it can leave you with a heavy sensation or brow droop. This can usually be corrected, so I recommend meeting with your service provider to do so. It's highly unlikely that the Botox disrupted your nose in any way, but it's something you can bring up during your follow up appointment. Good luck.

If you are using more of the procerus muscle or the transverse nasalis muscle to help keep up the tip of your droopy tip after prior nasal surgery, and if these muscles ( it is very doubtful that the glabellar treatment would affect the transverse nasalis), are relaxed by the Botox then there might be less ability for your muscles which normally are not used to hold the nasal tip upwards to help do so and it may feel more heavy.
