When I smile I get some horrid lines/creases above my lip. I’m hoping Botox could relax the muscle above my lips to reduce it. I’m 51 so do not expect miracles but this is really bothering me. I’ve attached photos with and without smiling-what do you think? Thank you
Answer: Botox is the Best Treatment for Dynamic Wrinkles Thank you for your question. Botox is a neuromodulator that works by relaxing facial muscles that lead to the formation of certain wrinkles. The lines you are referring to form when you smile, so Botox would be a good choice for this area. However, one must be cautious as too much Botox could drop your lip and give a heavy unnatural appearance. Make sure you are working with a board-certified dermatologist who is also an expert injector to ensure an optimal outcome. Your provider might also recommend combining your Botox injections with a microneedling, laser rejuvenation or filler treatment for best results. These procedures would provide additional long-term benefits to enhance your results. Good luck to you!

Answer: Can Botox reduce the horizontal lines/creases above lips? Thank you for the great picture so I can better help you. Yes you can use a Botox to help relax the lip area but may want to consider using a filler to give you an over all smoother optimal result. I would recommend the option of doing a CO2 Laser Resurfacing treatment around the mouth or you do have the option in doing full face. This treatment is for fine lines and wrinkles, pigmented sun-damage skin, acne scars and large pores. Good luck!

Answer: Botox above the mouth The wrinkles causing you concern are only visible when you make certain facial expressions, To create the best results in this sensitive area, precision in dosing amount and needle placement of Botox is required. I often combine Botox with dermal fillers and lasers to rejuvenate this area as well. Make sure you choose a board-certified dermatologist with experience in using Botox in this area. If Botox doesn’t provide the full results you want, you can add a skin resurfacing or microneedling treatment to put the finishing touches on your new look.
