Fraxel and/or CO2 are best for resurfacing, but Erbium is a good alternative. I always combine lasers with microneedling/PRP for more robust outcomes. For skin tightening, I recommend a combination of Ultherapy with RF treatments and Sculptra for skin tightening. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a cosmetic dermatologist. Best, Dr. Emer
I would recommend seeing your dermatologist for a diagnosis before pursuing any laser or medical treatment. They might do a small biopsy to rule out a vasculitis or underlying skin condition and they will take a complete medical history. This will save you from doing anything that might make the issue worse. Please see an expert first before considering aesthetic treatment.
Hi Taylor, From the photographs, the mottled skin lesions could be due to conditions like telangiectasia or livedo reticularis. Either condition could be just a benign physiologic variant or related to underlying disease. Firstly, it’s best for you to schedule a consultation with your physician so that a thorough examination could be carried out to differentiate the two. In certain cases, especially if underlying disease is suspected, blood test and biopsy might be required. If it’s purely benign telangiectases, they are generally harmless, though they can cause pain, itching and some people want to remove them for cosmetic reasons. The options of benign telangiectases removal would be vascular laser like long-pulsed Nd: Yag laser, sclerotherapy and electrosurgery, depending on the diameter of the vessels.
It's difficult to tell for sure by your photograph, but it looks as though the mottled appearance of your skin is due to a combination of capillaries and pigment blotchiness. I would recommend starting with several BBL Laser treatments, followed by Halo Laser. These two lasers particularly when used together, are very synergistic for reducing blotchy or mottled appearance of the skin. I hope you find this information helpful.
Thank you for your question and photographs. It's difficult to evaluate your skin through this type of forum. The mottle appearance could be due to underlying capillary conditions. You need an in-person evaluation of your skin to help determine what would be the best treatment course for you. I highly recommend you consult with a board certified dermatologist to have your skin evaluated and to discuss treatment options that best suit your needs. Take care and good luck.
You should be fine to resume your regular duties 8-10 hours after your treatment. Be sure to either stay upright or lie flat or slightly elevated to ensure migration does not occur when you go to bed the day of your treatment.
Thanks for your question. When patients have very strong glabellar muscles, it takes quite a bit more than 14 units to give you full lack of movement and softening of the area. There is not really any point in undertreating that area, as we don't need that complex of muscles to...
It is possible that Botox injections will help the horizontal wrinkles above your lip. You should make a consult with a doctor who has experience in this area to determine the treatment that is right for you.
