Should I have tummy tuck or Liposuction first? (Photo)

Ideally, you would do both a tummy tuck and liposuction at the same time. However, if you are planning on staging the procedures I would recommend the tummy tuck first. This will have the greatest impact in improving the appearance of your abdomen.

Abdominoplasty includes liposuction of the abdomen as well as abdominal muscle repair in the same surgery so it can address all concerns, snatch the waist, and create that hourglass shape. I recommend consulting with a board certified plastic surgeon like myself to create a plan to achieve your desired goals.

I would reccomend a tummy tuck with flank liposuction at the same time. I think you would have an excellent result. I reccomend an in-person consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon to be sure.Best of luck!

Thank you for your questions and photo. A tummy tuck will address excess skin & repair of the abdominal muscle. The abdominal wall can be weakened after pregnancy and (or) significant weight gain & loss. By repairing the muscle, not only does the appearance of your abdominal area improve, but your core strength as well. The repair of the muscle will cinch your waist like an inner corset, which will accentuate your curves. Liposuction will remove excess fat from unwanted areas with some skin retraction. Liposuction is a critical component on a successful abdominoplasty, and I always use both techniques at the same time to give the best result possible. The abdominoplasty addresses the loose and hanging skin and can tighten any muscle separation while the liposuction will add shape and define the waistline. From your photos, you have significant loose skin that can only be improved by an abdominoplasty. Liposuction alone would make the skin hang further and worsen the appearance.

Thank you for your question regarding whether you should have a tummy tuck or liposuction first. By examining your photo, I think you'd get optimal results by first doing liposuction. I would recommend you get liposuction of the abdomen, flanks, and back, then come back for the tummy tuck. You can also get fat transfer during this first procedure (if you'd like).

After liposuction, you will be left with excess skin of the abdomen but hardly any excess fat. I think you could achieve excellent results. Thank you for your question. Looking at the photos you have provided I would suggest doing a tummy tuck first. This will allow your Surgeon to tighten up the abdominal wall muscles, pull down the extra skin and give the flattest belly that one can get. Some Surgeon's will do some liposuction of the flank area at the same time but it typically is very minimal.
