Solobello ? Scottsdale Quoted Me $6,000.

           I do not know about Scottsdale, but I know someone working for Sonobello in Beverly Hills and he is a very capable board certified plastic surgeon who specializes in liposuction.  I have no idea how they set their prices, but I would say that 3 areas of liposuction for $6000 is a steal if you like the surgeon.

I am not sure if $6000 is high or not for what you need. You say you need 3 areas but I am not sure what areas these are and how much fat you need removed. Acutally it seems low to me. I would find it hard to believe that any reputable plastic surgeon would do 3 areas of liposuction for $6000. The fact that they are advertising 1600 per area seems "shady" at the least and I suspect this is the typical "chop shop" that uses "cosmetic surgeons" and no board certified plastic surgeons. I am willing to be that you probably only met with a "surgical counselor" and not the doctor....

With quality liposuction, you get what you pay for. But $6000 seems high for laser liposuction since with all the problems and increased risks with laser lipos, they are becoming the cheapest lipos in quality and price. Tumescent lipo with micro canula  is lipo under local anesthesia. You are back to work in 2 days and recovery is easy and quick with great results. $5-6000 on special for this technique by a doc who has done thousands and thousands is a bargain without all the risks of lasers or general anesthesia. Always check with several docs before making your choice. Traveling to get the best results is highly recommended. Sincerely,

While I can't comment on the pricing policy of other practices, I do have a few pointers that should help you decide. First, it is always a good idea to get more than one opinion so see more than one practice. Second, you should see the doctor personally at the consultation - you are getting a medical opinion about surgery, not a sales visit. Third, ignore the hype about various technologies such as laser-assisted liposuction; the most important variable is the skill of the surgeon. Any lipo technique should have a quick recovery, and the laser adds additional risks.

Thank you for the question.  Even when laser lipo is done, regular liposuction at the same time is recommended for the best result.  Depending on your goals and what your body needs around 6000 should be sufficient for IV sedation, facility fee, and liposuction of the abdomen and hips with tumescent liposuction.  The technology and the business is not whats important rather finding a plastic surgeon that is well trained, that you feel comfortable with, and that can show you the results that you desire.

When undergoing surgery, choose a surgeon you feel comfortable with, not a price you feel comfortable with. Meet with your surgeon, not a sales person. After you have found a surgeon you like, then consider the price.

 

     In my opinion Smartl Lipo is not smart.  The name is a marketing term and I disagree with most of the claims.   Great liposuction is done by smart plastic surgeons doing fine detailed work.   Small cannula liposuction is far more effective than any technology hype.   90% of the worlds liposuction is done by small cannula technique by fine surgeons.   Of all the technology systems,   I feel Vaser ultrasonic liposuction is the best   and actually does make things better and easier for surgeon and patient.  Beware of all slick marketing hype in all of your purchases including liposuction.  In addition, I am not a fan of offices that post prices that seem low to lure patients to their door, and then weave a story of that was just for the left leg or  arm and, oh yes, the right leg will add a  whole lot more.   See three plastic surgeons  in your local area that are certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and who are in addition real surgeons and Fellows of the American College of Surgeons.  (FACS after their names).  Do your research carefully.  Your results and  your very life depends upon it.  My Best,  Dr C

One thing to keep in mind is that Smartlipo is not smart, it is just a copyright name to make sales easier. Next, the results from liposuction come from the skill of the surgeon, not the type of machine. All types of liposuction can be equal in results when used skillfully. Finally, make sure the surgeon is who you want. If you did not meet with the surgeon and have a thorough exam and a complete discussion of all the things that can go wrong in surgery you need to go elsewhere. If the surgeon is not interested in meeting and educating you and would rather have his staff do it, chances are you are just a number and a wallet, not a patient to be valued. I am sure you can find many well trained and experienced plastic surgeons in your town that will give you good results at a reasonable price.
