I had a Fotofacial 12 years ago and the laser was also radio frequency. I had amazing results but notice many laser services don't seem to include radio frequency. Why is that and what type of laser should I inquire about. I have moderate sun damage , I am 57 years old, light complexion, and would like to target my large pores, fine lines, overall skin tone, broken capillaries, with a bit of firming if possible.
Answer: I would like to get IPL or Fotofacial laser that has radio frequency combined -- what type of laser should I use? I agree that these are typically two devices but we can layer them for a nice result. The IPL or fotofacial will help browns and reds. We have Cutera's Xeo Limelight and have been very pleased with this IPL. The radiofrequency will help with skin quality improvement. In our office we use ThermiSmooth and ThermiTight. One of my favorite combo is IPL and Laser Genesis (YAG) laser for a no downtime layering. Those we do on the same day.

Answer: IPL and Radiofrequency Hi there-- IPL and RF are very different technologies and I'm not aware of a single device that does both at the same time. In our office we have IPL for photofacials, Exilis Ultra (combines RF and Ultrasound for skin tightening) and Infini RF (combines microneedling and RF). We also use a LaseMD laser for skin resurfacing. These can all be used to smooth and tighten the skin. I'd recommend finding a doc you can trust to make recommendations about what is right for you.

Answer: You Need 2 Different Devices... Thanks for your question. I don't know of any IPL devices that perform RF simultaneously. We often pair these 2 treatments together, but they are not on the same device. We utilize an ICON IPL PhotoFacial with a Pelleve RF Skin Tightening. I think you need to look for an office close to you with both technologies and they book them on the same visit. Best of luck.

Answer: Combination treatments for your skin type. How specialist approach skin rejuvenation is to examine your skin and come up with a bespoke treatment plan. The combinations are infinite providing one has the correct equipment. I do combine RF in patients either INFINI or INTENSIF, with many laser including Fraxel, CO2, Pico and even IPL. HALO combines erbium with non-ablative- this can result in faster healing. For your description, broken capillaries can be treated with vascular laser, pores and sun damage with 1927 Fraxel and tightening with RF insulated microneedling. Add PRP for more quicker healing. If a dermatologist or plastics perform your procedure, you should have a bespoke treatment and not a SOP (standard operating protocol) treatment. All the best, Dr Davin Lim. Brisbane . Australia
