After a consultation for my skin issues, the dermatologist recommended 3 treatments of micro needling with the Eclipse Micropen combined with Platelet Rich Plasma therapy immediately after the micro needling session. I just want to be assured that I am not being up-sold on a procedure that it is not worth the extra money. Is the PRP really worth it? Should I look into IPL or another laser treatment instead? I have redness and acne scarring as seen in attached photo.
Answer: Microneedling and PRP Hello and thank you for your question. In my office I perform microneedling only in combination with PRP's. This is because I strongly believe in the unparalleled repairing power of PRP's. The treatment gives great results in acne. Adding good skin care before and after the treatment is important for optimal results. Best, Oxana Popescu MD

Answer: PRP with microneedling Thank you for the question. To rejuvenate your skin, help with hair loss, and improve the results of laser procedures, we can inject you with plasma from your own blood. We draw some of your blood and process it to isolate the platelet-rich plasma (PRP). PRP contains concentrated growth factors; ingredients that stimulate skin and hair growth. I find that the Eclipse PRP system with the Micropen Elite achieves best results. The entire procedure can be performed in less than an hour. Normally a series of 3 treatments is recommended for best results.

Answer: Microneedling + PRP for acne scars We have had great success in our clinic using Microneeding in combination with PRP for skin rejuvenation and to soften scars by introducing restorative growth hormones for improved tone and texture. Microneedling stimulates collagen growth mechanically while growth factors provide nutrients to stimulate stem cells to grow fresh collagen and elastin. They work synergistically and improve both regular and red scars. Your redness would best be addressed by a BBL PhotoFacial treatment to clear away broken blood vessels, Rosacea or general redness. Best of luck to you.

Answer: Microneedling with PRP Microneedling is a great option for minimizing acne scarring, fine lines and overall skin texture and tone. Combining PRP with your microneedling treatments enhances your results by adding growth factors that are naturally in your body. Using these growth factors you are stimulating a stronger anti-aging and healing response. Combination therapies, such as laser and skin care, can be an added benefit and in most cases increase your end result.

Answer: Microneedling with PRP an Effective Treatment Microneedling is an effective way to treat acne scars, uneven complexion, fine lines and wrinkles, larger pores and more. PRP stands for Platelet Rich Plasma. The platelets in our blood are cells designed to heal injuries and are filled with our own natural growth factors.
