The biggest contraindication to EMSculpt is having metal in the area being treated. Since this is electromagnetic it could dislodge the devise. As long as your hernia has not recurred you should be fine with EMSculpt.Happy Toning,Dr. T
You wouldn't want to have EMSculpt with a hernia since the muscle contractions put pressure on the hernia, but considering that your hernia is now repaired, it should be perfectly safe to have an EMSculpt procedure. Enjoy your tighter, toned abs!Andrew CampbellQuintessa
As long as everything is healed, it is okay. Also, if it has been 2 months since surgery, then it is fine. Consult a trusted doctor in your area to know more about this procedure and its contraindications.
Hello,5 years out you will be ok having Emsculpt treatments as long as there are no metal implants in your body. You are healed this far out! Thanks!Dr. Daniel
Your hernia repair and tummy tuck should be completely healed five years after your surgery. As long as you do not have any metal in your abdomen (or elsewhere), you can receive EmSculpt treatments. However, it is always a good practice to discuss any surgeries with your provider prior to treatment.
From a surgeons standpoint, 6 weeks after a hernia repair, the wound is 80-90% max strength and we allow normal activity. Emscupt is not normal activity and so I would wait 3 months. From an aesthetic point of view, Emsculpt outcome will be suboptimal if your repair was done as a tension free repair with mesh as this type of repair does NOT bring muscles back to normal midline location. If you had a diastasis repair or traditional hernia repair under tension and there is no indication of recurrent hernia, your outcome should be pretty good. Just keep in mind scar tissue and surgical Injury muscle will be limiting factors in aesthetic outcome
Thank you for your question. BTL, the manufacturer and distributor of Emsculpt, says that a hernia or prior hernia repair is a relative contraindication to having Emsculpt performed. That being said, some physicians may elect to treat patients with a prior hernia repair in whom they feel in their clinical judgement it is safe to proceed.I hope this was helpful - Dr. Moore.
if you’re five years out this should not be a problem. Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
EMSculpt is a form of muscle strengthening and toning. With the use of high-intensity focused electromagnetic energy, it targets your muscles to contract for up to 20,000 contractions in 30 minutes. EMSculpt is safe with cancer. It is 100% non-invasive. This procedure is completely safe.
That is untrue. It is not a contraindication. The only contraindications are implantable pacemakers and surgical clips that are close to the area of treatment.
EMSculpt helps achieve a toned and sculpted body. It is okay to do EMSculpt after TT. It might help deliver desired results. Consult a doctor to know more.
