I had a Tummy Tuck 3 years ago and never had the flatness desired, even though the board certified PS supposedly did muscle repair. My stomach poufs out unless I hold it in. If holding it in, my stomach is definitely flat. He told me to do planks and ab exercises to correct. I'm 5'6" about 131 lbs. in my 60s. Will Emsculpt will help with this? And frankly, I wonder why it wasn't corrected better with the TT. And will the incision scars (which are too high) interfere with the process?
Answer: EMSculpt after tummy tuck You appear to be a great candidate for EMSculpt. EMSculpt will build, strengthen and tone your abdominal muscles while burning about 20% of the overlying fat. I've personally had these treatements and it definitely helped flatten my stomach. We recommend quarterly maintenance treatments to keep your result.Andrew Campbell, M.D.Quintessa

Answer: EMSculpt EmSculpt is a device which provides muscle toning via high frequency electromagnetic stimulation. It is being employed for abdominal and gluteal toning. Patients will undergo 4-6 treatments over 2-3 weeks (depending upon the area treated). These treatments are relatively low intensity and patients will commonly be engaged with a smart device (phone/tablet) for the duration. With regards to your specific question, EMSculpt can be a helpful adjunct to an abdominoplasty. Prior scarring does not disqualify you. However, the results of EMSculpt therapy must be maintained by exercise and/or repeat treatments. As always, discuss your concerns with a board certified plastic surgeon (ABPS).Donovan Rosas MD Board Certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery Member: American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, American Society of Plastic Surgeons RealSelf Top 100 RealSelf Hall of Fame

Answer: Emsculpt After Tummy Tuck Based on the photos you have provided, you are an excellent candidate for Emsculpt. You have good skin elasticity and muscles that you are able to suck in, but which could be improved. I am sorry to hear that your surgeon did not achieve the level of abdominal repair and tightening you were looking for! Emsculpt will trigger supramaximal muscle contractions of your abdominal muscles: this type of muscle contraction is not achievable at a gym. In four sessions of Emsculpt, spaced three to four days apart, you can strengthen and define your abdominal muscles. I hope that this information is useful to you: maybe you already are enjoying the results of Emsculpt!
