I really don’t want to do implants and want it to look natural - nothing too crazy. I would like more projection when looking at it from the side and a little less boxy from the front and back. Is a BBL possible/recommended with my frame? Thanks!

Answer: Should I get a BBL? I have an athletic build, and am interested in getting a BBL. (Photos) Thinner patients can have great results with BBL. The thinner patient requires an expert at liposuction to remove as much fat as possible while leaving the skin smooth. Implants can be used as well but may impact higher level athletics.Kenneth Hughes, MD, Board Certified Plastic SurgeonLos Angeles, CA

Answer: Thin With a BBL In order for a BBL to occur, there must be fat to be removed, harvested and injected into the glutes. The greater the amount of transferrable fat on a patient, the greater the size of the new buttocks. However, there are many patients who have minimal fat that are still great candidates for a BBL, as long as they are realistic about their results. Even small amounts of fat added to the hips and/or glutes can provide a subtle, but noticeable difference. When patients have very minimal to no fat, I typically suggest using a poly-L-lactic acid, such as Sculptra, to enhance their shape. While fillers are not permanent, they do add volume to your buttocks for up to three years by stimulating collagen growth in your skin, therefore adding suppleness and volume to the area. Always find a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon for the best results! Best wishes!
