I have a 12mm overjet. One orthodontist already said I would need braces AND jaw surgery which is something way out of my budget so which would be more optimal, braces or jaw surgery. I have 2 wisdom teeth that have not yet come out at the bottom. The orthodontist did a quick minute evaluation and didn't even say if I would need tooth extractions. The 12mm overjet was due to an accident as a child around 4 years old and now I am 18.
