May 1 ,2017 i have a motor accident which cause damage to my mouth, lip and nose.. my problem is my lip and columella is really too close and around my philtrum area some of my stiches had a keloid? is keloid afftecting my upper lip and pulled up to columella..? thanks for who will answers.. godbless

The most likely cause of a shortening columella after trauma is secondary scar contracture. Scars shrink in other works. Get a formal consultation with a plastic surgeon about ways to slow down this scar shrinkage.Best wishes, Dr. ALDO

Hi rouiejace,
You are right, the keloid scar is pulling your upper lip upwards, towards your columella. To lower the upper lip, you will need to do a surgery to lengthen the lip-nose distance and corrrect the vermillion border as well.
