My doctor told me to leave the steristrips on until I get my stitches removed in a week. It’s been two days and my strips are bloody and gross looking on my face. They did give me extra strips but I was just wondering what my options were.

I would recommend not removing the steri strip that is bloody 2 days after your mole removal and just put a fresh piece over it to make it look better.  Taking the strips off now could damage your sutures.

Excision of a mole may require wound closure via sutures, steristrips or a combination of both. Steristrips are used for additional protection to the incision. After 48hrs, I would recommend contacting your physician’s office to inquire about replacingthe soiled steri strips with the additional clean set. Be sure to follow-up with your physician in one week for a wound check to ensure proper healing.
