Question

I am getting Juvaderm tomorrow and potentially Botox. I’m interested in the lip flip too . This is my first time. My bottom lip is asymmetrical/ flat. I don’t love the pouty. How do I say I want more surface area h+w? & keep my top lip when I smile lol. Slight projection but not too much. I would like to keep my cupid’s bow as is! What would be recommended for someone like me?(pics attached) Doesnthe doctor factor in your other facial features and face shape? Thank you!

Thank you for your question. What we suggest to our patients is to find a photograph of the desired look, using similar shaped lips, to give us an idea of the desired outcome. However, it is important to factor in a patient's other facial features when assessing how much volume to add. Additionally, there are different techniques that a Doctor can use in order to shape the lip differently versus adding more volume, so make sure you go to someone that is skilled at what they do and knows how to achieve what you are looking for. The "lip flip" is typically done using a couple of units of Botox.

The explanation you provided here should help your injector understand your goals for treatment.  You can also bring along photos of lips that you like and those you don't in order to further demonstrate your description.  It is important that you understand that it is common for lips to swell after treatment.  This can take up to two weeks to completely resolve, so be patient after treatment as what you see the day of treatment may not be your final result.
