Hi, I had a breast lift with 339cc unders placed 3 weeks ago. Today I've noticed a pain in my lower rib area, parallel to the base of my sternum, in the area under the incisions. It hurts to the touch. I am wondering if this is related to the surgery. Do the muscles in the upper abs get affected? It feels like the sutures at the base of my breast run down into the lower ribs or upper abs. Also, is there any risk of blood clots 3 weeks out? Thank you for your time.
Answer: Post op pain Hello and congratulations on you recent surgery. Quite often when there is discomfort in the area that you are mentioning it is related to sutures that are used to recreate the contour of the breast and maintain the shape inframammary fold. This along with discomfort from releasing the pectoralis muscle are possible causes. Blood clots are always a possibility with any operation and you should make your physician/ hospital aware if there are any concerns regarding this...

Answer: Pain in upper abs/low ribs 3 weeks post op breast lift/augmentation Hello dear, thanks for your question and provided information as well… I have to say that you are still early on healing process, it is too soon to determine how your results are going to be, per now, they look very nice and beautiful, you can have one bigger than the other, feel swollen and also have bruises and open wounds, it is normal and that can happen for the first 3 to 4 months until your implants have settle in. I recommend you to wait and keep using your post surgical bra, that will help you with the shape and support. Hugs!

Answer: Breast pain You may have a facial contracture which should clear up. There should be no risk of PE at this point. You might try Ibuprofen ,400 mg 3x per day if that is ok with your doctor.

Answer: Post-op discomfort of this sort can have a number of causes after augmentation mastopexy alrigz,You look fine at this stage. Pain from the breast region can be referred to the upper abdomen and lower chestwall, due to the way the nerves run as they exit under each rib laterally, and they can cause hypersensitivity in their area of distribution. Superficial vein clotting occasionally occurs below the incision on the lower chest wall, extending onto the abdomen in the direction of the umbilicus, and is sometimes called by the misnomer "Mondor's cord" or "Mondor's disease". This phenomenon is not dangerous, is usually unilateral (one side only), and produces a pulling sensation when you stand up straight, eventually causing tenting of the skin below the incision before resolving. Of the two possibilities, nerve pain is more likely and should resolve. As with any perceived problem or question, it should ultimately be brought to the attention of your surgeon, who has the advantage of direct exam and the knowledge of exactly what was done. I hope that this helps. Information concerning breast lift with implants is linked below.
