Could I get away with lipo 360 alone for a snatched waist without a tummy tuck? (photos)

Hello and thank you for your question. You have too much skin laxity for liposuction alone.  Based on your photographs and skin laxity, you will be a better candidate for a tummy tuck with liposuction after you are done having children.  This can be done through a low and short incision, all completely below the bikini line.  The belly button can be designed to look natural and have no scars on the exterior.   Your muscles can also be plicated resulting in a flat abdomen.  Make sure you specifically look at before and after pictures of real patients who have had this surgery performed by your surgeon and evaluate their results.

yes you can get smaller waist with lipo 360 and fat grafting to the hips and buttock but your stomach will look terrible it. will be loose and sagging like a defalted baloon if you do not do tummy tuck. that will be your choice to do liposuction with internal heating (renuvion) and risk sagging if you do not do a tuck.
You need a formal evaluation by an expert in body shaping and contouring to determine what is best.  Traditional liposuction awake and smart liposuction are old methods and do very poorly for tightening skin or significant skin tightening or contouring.  Small problem areas can be improved slightly by these methods.  The best in body contouring not only removes fat with energy devices like VASER ultrasound but also internally heat the skin with radio-frequency devices such as J PLASMA/RENUVION, InMode BodyTite, ThermiRF to heat the under surface of the skin and tighten it at the same time as fat removal. These combinations are called 4D HIDEF VASER contouring and can only be done by a well . trained body contouring specialist. At the same time fat should be harvested, PRP and stem cells added and injected into muscles or indentations/cellulite to get body shaping and contouring.  This is known as a Brazilian butt lift when you inject the fat to the buttock for contouring and lifting, but fat can also be used in areas such as the chest/breast, arms/shoulders, calves and face.  Cellulite should also be treated with cellfina, sculptra, subcision and/or fillers such as bellafill, renuva synthetic fat, or sculptra.  If skin is very loose before surgery then it will need to be removed such as lower abdominal skin (tummy tuck/abdominoplasty), breast skin (breast lift), arm skin (brachioplasty).  Overall you need a full assessment, but simple liposuction alone will not tighten skin and needs a combination of various methods -- fat removal, skin tightening, defining, fat grafting, skin removal -- to get the best in body contouring and body sculpting.  Dr. Emer.

Hello,Liposuction alone is not the ideal procedure for you as you appear to have skin laxity and some abdominal distension. These findings will not be improved with liposuction alone, and in fact the skin laxity may worsen. The abdominal distension is either due to visceral fat which is only improved with weight loss, or muscle separation from pregnancy which requires surgical repair via tummy tuck.That being said, you can undergo liposuction knowing and accepting that your results will be modest (no snatch waist) and that a second staged procedure after you are done with childbearing would be beneficial. Based on your photos you do seem to have loose skin and likely have separation of the abdominal muscles (rectus diastasis).  These two problems cant be fixed with liposuction alone.  You would need a tummy tuck with muscle repair to address these problems.  Lipsuction will remove any fat you can pinch below the skin but will not affect anything below the muscle layer and will not fix muscles or loose skin.  You could undergo liposuction but I would recommend waiting until you are done having children and undergoing one larger procedure with lipo and a tt at the same time.  Good luck and thanks for the question.  

Dear Shar,While it seems liposuction of your abdomen, sides and lower back (Lipo 360) would make you thinner and most certainly leave you with wrinkled abdominal skin, it will NOT snatch your waist.  The reason is because you have internal fat (visceral fat) which causes your belly to be rounded and stick out.  While there is fat in front of the belly muscles which would be liposuctioned out, the remailing outward curve (due to weak abdominal muscles and the internal/visceral fat) would be visible and not flat.Dr T

Since you are planning more children, I would recommend losing weight in which case you might be able to avoid surgery altogether. If the abdominal fat is visceral, then the liposuction  will not be beneficial. An in person exam is important to assess this. Best wishes.

The answer to your question really lies in what you have in your mind as your desired final result. Liposuction is a procedure that removes fat from under the skin but the response of the skin is unpredictable. If you had no natural skin tightening after the liposuction would you be happy with that? If you had 30% skin tightening would you be happy with that? I don't think you would get any more than that amount particularly in the front where you already have overhanging skin.The good news is that if you have an undesirable amount of excess skin you can always have a tummy tuck to get rid of it. The bad news is that it would require a second operation. Ultimately it is trying to match the typical result to your expectations.

You would likely benefit from an ultra high definition tummy tuck using high definition VASER liposuction. This procedure would comprehensively remove excess skin and fat in the abdominal region. The abdominal muscle would also be 'tightened' to create the appearance of a flatter stomach.  A Skype or FaceTime consultation with a tummy tuck specialist will help you get an accurate recommendation and pricing.

I think you might be surprised at how impressive Liposuction results can look even for someone who might be a better candidate for a tummy tuck.
Take a look at some of my liposuction results posted under my account on real self. Some of those patients were textbook tummy tuck candidates but we’re not going to have that procedure but we’re willing to have Liposuction.
I think the Single biggest limitation in your case is that you carry a substantial percentage of your fat as visceral or intra-abdominal fat.
This in combination with muscle separation causes significant bulging of your abdomen.
You can’t fix the muscle separation without a tummy tuck but you can lose this real fat through weight loss. 
Well done Liposuction of your full torso and a 15 pound weight loss would look absolutely amazing on you.
You’ll still have some skin laxity but in clothing you could look really really good.

I have a lot of Liposuction experience.
I would steer you away from spot treating your torso. what I mean by this is that if you’re going to have Liposuction then you need to make the fat layer of your entire torso be even in thickness. This means including upper abdomen, lower abdomen, love handles, waist, full back, armpit or under arm area. in some cases the mons pubis and lower back need to be included as well. In my practice we typically refer to this as a “full torso“.
If any area is left untreated it will bulge and your torso would not look normal.
Liposuction can give you a waist and S-curve that is currently hidden.
The ability to perform Liposuction well, attitudes about the procedure and experience in Liposuction varies greatly among different providers including board-certified plastic surgeons.
For 10 years I did general plastic surgery including lots and lots of tummy tucks. now I am the center of excellence in Northern California for liposuction and fat transfer.
To me you are a good candidate for liposuction.  I turn down a lot of people for surgery and tend to set expectations low. In your case I think it’s fair to dial-up expectations but the procedure has to be done by somebody who really knows what they’re doing.to get a really great result you also have to lose weight on top of the fat removed from Liposuction.
Try to find the local Liposuction expert in your area. everyone will claim to be that person but the proof is in the pudding. Ask  them to show you 100 before and after pictures from a Abdomens treated only with Liposuction. Ask to see the last 10 consecutive Liposuction results.  I suggest scheduling multiple in person consultations so you can sit down and assess the competence of the surgeon.  avoid virtual consultations if possible.
Read all the negative reviews on all the various websites like real self, yelp, vitals, rate MD, Health grades etc.
Unfortunately positive reviews no longer count as much because of review manipulation.
Reading the negative reviews tells much more of the truth.
Start  by having at least five in person consultations.

If you can drop a few pounds and find the right provider then I think you can get close to what you’re hoping for.
