Every PS has his/her post-operative guidelines; I suggest that you follow those of your PS as he/she performed your BBL and knows your how you are healing. I recommend that my patients take 100 grams of protein each day during the healing phase for the first six weeks following surgery. This protein can be in the form of manufactured premier protein shakes or optimum whey protein added to milk or water. The objective is not weight gain but promotion of healing. Other sources of protein include poultry, fish, soy, quinoa, nuts, eggs, whole grains, Greek yogurt, cottage cheese, lentils, and beans.Kenneth Hughes, MD, Board Certified Plastic SurgeonLos Angeles, CA

Regardless of the reason, please adhere to your instructions and contact your coordinators with any questions. Best of luck to you!
