BBL 1 wk post, still very swollen. My concern no drains used, instead 3 incisions left stitch free for draining during massage. The massages in the clinic, therapist would open each incision and press down on my stomach and vagina to remove the fluid. However, my last massage was on day 5 post op and I still have more fluid in me. My concern is how will this fluid get out of my body if the incisions are sealed and I am doing the massages myself?

Thank you for your question. After surgery there is a predictable swelling process that mostly resolves over two months, when the final result really settles in. The body usually gets rid of the fluid through the urine and  sweat. Best!

Hello, thank you for your great question! Liquid is eliminated through the bodies lymphatic system via urine, saliva, and sweat. During the important post-operative months, it is important you continue using your compression garments, and eat healthful foods, including plenty of vegetables to aid the process of elimination. Make sure you're walking around plenty, and avoiding high sodium, and inflammatory foods.Good Luck!
