As botox wears off, forehead wrinkles look strange and more pronounced. Don't want botox again. What can address this? (Photo)

Hi there, sorry to hear you weren’t happy with your BOTOX® results. Keep in mind that BOTOX® will gradually fade away within 3 to 4 months and your appearance will return to normal. If you’d to try something different to address wrinkles, eMatrix can be a good option. This involves using non-laser, bi-polar radiofrequency waves to help stimulate collagen without harming the surface of your skin. Other possibilities would include laser skin rejuvenation and chemical peels. Talk with your cosmetic surgeon or certified aesthetician about the most appropriate choice for you.

Your forehead should eventually resume it's normal appearance. However, for now, your best bet is to get a little Botox up high in the forehead to treat those deeper lines. If performed well, Botox should give you a natural, but very improved appearance. See someone with extensive experience and discuss your concerns. If you are dead set against more botox and are interested in a non-invasive approach, I would suggest skin tightening by radiofrequency microneedling, 

The results of Botox typically last on average 3-4 months. Botox should not have a long term effect and once it wears off, your forehead will return to its pretreatment appearance. That being said, I do not believe there is a better treatment for dynamic lines and wrinkles on the upper face then a neuromodulator like Botox or Dysport. I typically use 8-12 units when treating horizontal forehead lines so unless you also had your frown lines treated, 25 units is a high dose. In some patients with forehead volume loss, a filler such as Restylane can reduce but not eliminate the appearance of forehead lines. A lower dose of Botox/Dysport may also give you a better result.

Hi,Thank you for your question.  Botox typically lasts 3-4 months.  This is a range, and in some people it will last longer.  I would suggest being patient as it should wear off soon.  Additional botox in small doses will help the appearance, but when the lower forehead returns to normal, the upper forehead will still be showing the effect of the Botox, creating a circle of events.  Surgical procedures will lead to permanent changes which you may not need or want and non invasive procedures will not effect the muscle activity, which is bothersome to you.Good Luck,Dr Bev

Thank you for your question. You can address forehead wrinkles with laser resurfacing, microneedling and PRP. Please make sure you seek treatment from a specialist. For more information, I recommend getting a in person consultation from a board-certified specialist. 

Itr sounds like the injections were not evenly distributed and not lateral enough.  Botox is still the best simple temporary fix but should be done by an experienced board certified dermatologist. alternatives include a surgical brow lift and fillers
