Botox and Augmentin antibiotic interaction?

Question

I had Botox this past Friday approx 20 units. Today I was prescribed Augmentin for a sinus infection. I was almost vomiting and I wanted to know if a drug interaction exists- or if I need to eat more with the antibiotic? I visited a Dr online through an app and forgot to tell him about the botox.!

Thank you for your question.Augmentin is a very strong antibiotic, so it is likely that is what caused the problems with your stomach. Botox only works locally on the muscles it is injected in to. I would suggest eating something that will coat your stomach before taking the next dose of antibiotic.

You can relax!  Unfortunately, you are likely having a reaction to your Augmentin or the disease for which you are currently prescribed the antibiotic for.  It is definitely not a drug drug interaction between your Augmentin and your Botox.

It is not recommended that you undergo Botox whilst on Augmentin, particularly in the case of active sinusitis, however I have not heard of any interactions between Augmentin and Botox if you are put on the antibiotic following the procedure, as is the case with you. Botox should not these types of side effects.  this are typically seen with antibiotics.  It is best to take those medicines as prescribed.  Many times it is important to have taken them with food.

It is unlikely that botox interacts with augmentin. Antibiotics can cause nausea and vomiting. You  might want to run it by your doctor.
