Is permanent bruising possible after lipo?

I just had lipo on 02/19. I'm still very swollen but my main concern is this bruise I have. The bruise is concentrated in one specific area. I'm really concerned. Is it possible for a bruise to remain permanent?

Bruising may be Prolonged after liposuction but will eventually resolve. Gray staining of the skin can be seen in patients who have liposuction and are concurrently on tetracycline. This may last a very long time but will ultimately resolve.

It is possible to have permanent tissue discoloration after liposuction, but not common. Right now you are too early on to say it will be permanent.  Give this time and keep your follow-up appointments.  Try not to worry too much at this point.

There is almost no way to perform liposuction without bruising.  Wear your compression so it minimizes the bruising and swelling.  Follow your instructions for this and be consistent with your compression.

Bruising is common after liposuction and not likely permanent. Occasionally a patient can have some hemosiderin that does not completely resorb.

Although I think it is too early for you to be concerned, the textbooks say you can have permanent discoloration from bruising. I would not be overly concerned for another week or two.
