Is it normal to have dark stools after lipo?

There are a number of circumstances that can cause still to be black. One of them is blood. This would not Be the result of liposuction but could be a serious problem and should be reported to your surgeon.

If you haven't had a BM since your surgery it may account for the color change. Usually, patients have some constipation when on pain medication. I would call your surgeon though for advice.'Good Luck

Hi there,Thanks for your question.  I would say it is very unusual to notice much of a change in bowel habitls afer liposuction.  In my practice it is an outpatient procedure with high patient satisfaction.  Most plastic surgeons do prescribe pain medication and occasionally this may lead to constipation.  I recommend talking with your plastic surgeon to discuss this in more detail.
