While both procedures may be elective, the ablation is much more likely to negatively influence your health if not done. I agree about getting the ablation first. I would give it a month between procedures and get blood work in between. Best of luck.
Since the abdominoplasty is a completely elective procedure I would ask that you wait until your completely healed from the uterine surgery. Clearly, subsequent elective aesthetic surgery would have to be done with the consent of your gynecologic surgeon.
This really needs to be addressed by the plastic surgeon of your choosing and your doctor performing the ablation endometrial ablation. Recovery may last anywhere from a few days to a few weeks.
Thank you for sharing your question. Talk to your ob/gyn but you can have a tummy tuck once fully healed from your ablation, typically 4-6 weeks afterward. Hope this helps.
Dear Rubyg1234,you should be healthy and fully healed before you get another procedure. But every plastic surgeon has his own preoperative protocol which he recommends to his patients. I would suggest you to discuss this with your plastic surgeon.Daniel Barrett, MDCertified, American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
I would recommend speaking with the physician performing your ablation as well as your plastic surgeon to work out timing. Typically you want to be fully healed from your ablation in order to keep risk of infection and complications low.
Thanks so much for your question. Endometrial ablation should be a fairly quick outpatient procedure. In general a safe recovery period of 4-6 weeks should suffice for you to be “out of the woods” from the ablation and be ready for a more formidable procedure such as abdominoplasty. Best of luck!Sincerely,John David Rosdeutscher, M.D.

You will want to be fully recovered from your appendectomy before considering a tummy tuck. I encourage you to speak with your surgeon about your concerns as he/she will help you make the final determination when you can proceed with your planned tummy tuck.
Typically we advise women who plan to have children in the future to wait until after they have completed their families before considering a tummy tuck. This is because future pregnancies can impact your tummy tuck results. One option you can consider now is BodyTite. This procedure combines...
