So I had 360 lipo a year ago. It was a suggestion to have a tummy tuck but we were hoping the skin would tighten to avoid that procedure. One plastic surgeon consult said yes tummy tuck while the other said I don’t have enough skin. I so now understand the difference of opinion with two reputable professionals. I do have some loose skin. Some fat I can pinch and center of stomach is slightly hard. Only a one finger muscle separation. Any advice or opinions?

Answer: Potentially Depends on the amount of skin laxity. You likely will be a good candidate for tummy tuck but you can also consider other options such as bodytite or minitiuck

Answer: Abdominoplasty following liposuction Abdominoplasty following liposuction is not an uncommon procedure. Surgeons of the past generally staged liposuction and abdominoplasty because it was perceived to be safer to split these procedures into 2 separate surgeries. Obviously surgery has involved and now many providers perform Lipo abdominoplasty. Based upon your photos I believe that you could undergo abdominoplasty. Your skin may have retracted somewhat following prior liposuction, however I find that skin tightening almost never meets patient's expectations following liposuction of the abdomen alone. Abdominoplasty following prior liposuction is a bit more challenging than a primary abdominoplasty with liposuction. However surgical techniques are generally modified. At times a small vertical incision remains at the lower abdominoplasty closure if there is not quite enough skin to close the site of the umbilicus when it is pulled down to the transverse abdominoplasty closure. In short, most patients have enough skin to facilitate abdominoplasty. However it is important to consider age, general health, and childbearing status. These factors contribute to general Decision making regarding whether to pursue abdominoplasty.
