Is this a problem? Hole in my incision growing larger and deeper but I have a line of stitches hanging out. (Photos)

Sorry to hear that you are having these problems.  The exposed suture material needs to be removed, and the opening should be able to heal with thoughtful wound care, measures to reduce the risk of infection, and good nutrition.  I would encourage you to follow up with your surgeon, but if they make themselves unavailable, find a plastic surgeon willing to help or search out a local wound care center.

You have a wound separation. This is pretty common and can even happen this late in the process. Your wound needs to be evaluated by your plastic surgeon. Speak with them again and if they’re really not available inform them you will seek help with a wound care center or a second opinion with an available plastic surgeon. Good luck.

Thank you for sharing your question and photograph and I am sorry to see your wound-healing difficulties. In cases of incision separation the initial wound can worsen a bit before your body starts to heal.  I would contact your surgeon to alert them of your issues so that they can offer you the best local wound care advice.  They will also want to remove the suture material that has started to hang.  Hope this helps.

You're are spitting out a suture and then wound may be getting larger from this or a possible infection. You do need to be seen and have a culture taken.

Thank you for the question and photos.  The area with the suture was most likely a suture abscess that opened and it will not heal till your Board Certified Plastic Surgeon removes it.  Call their office and tell them you have a spitting suture that needs to be removed.  While you follow up due to the suture,  ask them how to care for the other openings since every surgeon has different post op protocols.  

First of all yes you need to be seen by your surgeon.  Wound healing problems can happen following any surgery.  The stitch needs to be removed and the appropriate dressings applied to speed the healing process.  Wounds change as they heal and therefore the type of dressing applied needs to change.  You should be seen weekly until the wound is completely healed.  Be aware that you may need a scar revision in the future.

Thank you for your question and photos.You have had a small wound separation during your healing. This can result from problems with blood flow to the tissues as well as infection or fluid collections.The good news is that these usually heal with good wound care.In my practice, we would use saline dressings here and let this heal by itself after removing any bad tissues, trimming the suture and making sure you didn't require any antibiotics.Evaluation by your surgeon is definitely reasonable in this case.I'm sorry you are having this problem after surgery. Best wishes for speedy resolution of this.

You are most likely experiencing wound separation that appears to be infected due to local wound care. I recommend you contact a board certified plastic surgeon to examine the wound, and perhaps provide you with a topical antibiotic or an oral antibiotic for optimum healing.
