Can this bump on my septum be swelling or could this be a permanent result? (photos)

I had rhinoplasty/septoplasty about a year ago next month. Since the beginning I've had this irregularity and at this point I'm not sure if it's permanent or something that will resolve with time. I visited a surgeon and was left with nothing resolved. I was just wondering what can be done to fix this or should I just wait more time?

It looks as though the bottom of your nasal septum may be crooked. It can be difficult to correct because the cartilage of the septum is elastic, meaning it tries to regain its original position when moved. Usually, a well qualified rhinoplasty surgeon can use techniques to straighten and support the septum so that it remains in a centered position permanently.

Your caudal septum is prominent on the left nostril; it seems you have a graft at you columella too. Your septoplasty might have failed, needing revision. Could be you need a strut to bend and align your septum.

Hi,  You have a slight deviation of the lower septum and this is an easy fix to settle it.  The usual case is for a deviated septum to obstruct the inner vault to some degree and in the lower part of the S deformity, the nostril opening can be somewhat obstructed on the opposite side.  Discuss this with your doctor as the localized septum can be trimmed so the nostrils have symmetry.  This is a different septal deviation than the one that was probably approached with your original surgery.  That would have been to relieve the deviation of the septum in your RIGHT nasal vault (Interior).  All of this assumes that the picture represents your left nostril opening (exterior) being comprimised.  It will not go away by itself and may continue to increase in appearance.    Good luck with this.  I know it is annoying with any unkind remarks by others.  Your insurance company should cover this as it is an obvious obstruction of your nostril airway intake.

Just from the photo it looks like a bend in your caudal septum. It may be possible to straighten this a bit with further surgery.
