Hello from Ottawa, Thanks for the photo's, they are very helpfull. Right away, i notice two things. One, you have a thin face with a small chin and large nose. The chin actually makes your nose look even bigger than at actually is. The chin/nose complex is crucial when considering nose surgery and something you need to take care to understand. If you had a rhinoplasty surgery, you would most likely be happy however, you may still find your nose looks a bit "off". In my example photo's here on Realself, there is a man with a large nose and small chin, if you look you can see what I mean. He didn't want a chin implant so we just helped with his nose. It made a dramatic difference, but you can still tell his nose looks a bit "big" due to his small chin. Someone like yourself, may be in a similar situation. It may be that the only issue with your nose, is actually the bump. Your nose, to me at least, doesnt look too "big" just that it has a big bump. If you removed the bump and advanced your chin, you may get a dramatic improvement. What I advise is to find someone who does Digital Imaging/Virtual Surgery to show you what the effect will be in your photo's. I've put a link below so feel free to take a look and get some ideas. I hope that helps.James P. If you are unhappy with the appearance of your nose, then perhaps you should see a specialist to go over what could be done.
herewego1, your nose is a bit big and your chin is a bit small. See several facial plastic specialists with years of experience and choose one that makes you feel comfortable; make sure they have good photos. Don't look at imaging as being important. Good luck!
The rhinoplasty procedure can address making a large nose smaller. Closed rhinoplasty techniques can address straightening the nose, de-projecting the length of the nose, and reducing the dorsal hump. There is also a weak chin profile present, and a chin implant would help improve facial balance and proportions.
Dear herewego1,From your clinical posts and photographs it does appear thatyou have a nose that dominates your appearance both in profile and from thefrontal view. A reduction rhinoplastywith modification of the bump on the bridge, a slight reduction in length andtip projection will create much more harmonious nose and face balance. Although your chin appears quite small inrelation to the nose I’ve always found it quite interesting how reductionrhinoplasty greatly improves chin projection. A chin implantation could be considered at the time of reductionrhinoplasty, but quite frequently patients decide with the reductionrhinoplasty they’re quite happy with their chin and an elective chinaugmentation can always be performed as a secondary procedure under localanesthesia. Most importantly, I would seek out a plastic surgeon withlots of rhinoplasty experience. I’vebeen performing rhinoplasties for over 20 years having trained in both plasticsurgery and ear, nose, throat, head and neck oncology. A complete consultation should include acomputer digital imaging with simulated surgery so you could see the changes inyour nasal profile appearance and how it affects your facial aesthetics. This will help you decide the kind and amountof reduction that appeals most to you.I hope this information has been of some assistance and formore information, please review the link below.R. Hi, from the attached photos your nose is a bit large with a dorsal hump and an over-projected nasal tip. Rhinoplasty would address these issues. From the profile, the chin is quite weak which makes the nose appear even larger. Chin augmentation, with a Chin Implant, would create harmony and balance to the entire lower face. I frequently perform these two procedures at the same time. Hope this helps.
At two weeks, you still have swelling throughout the nose that will continue to subside over the coming weeks to months. The swelling doesn't always come down symmetrically which can cause some asymmetries in the initial healing period. Be patient and make sure that you are following up with...

In our practice, the cast is removed day 6 after the procedure. This gives adequate amount of time for the nasal bones to set to their new position.
