My implant exposed 5 months after butt implants. What should I do? (Photo)

butt implants were done five months ago. a small hole started in the scar two weeks ago. 3 days ago I sat down and the hole felt like it popped and clear fluid came draining out. I still have slight drainage.now the hole is getting bigger and my husband can see the implant.I went to a local wound clinic and they said it is not infected at this point.my doctor is a two hour flight away... what should I expect? will the implants need to be removed for sure?

Any exposed implant is by definition, at the very least, contaminated and the open wound will NOT heal unless the implant is removed  A new implant can be replaced (under the gluteus muscle of course) but only after a necessary and standard 6 month waiting period.  Glad to help.

Exposed buttock implant is most probably infected, or at least contaminated. It is very difficult to save the implant. The safest approach is to remove the implants do a tissue culture on the capsule, treat with antibiotics based on cultures when the results come back.May consider re-insertion of new implants 6-9 months later if conditions are suitable. I would recommend seeking a board certified plastic surgeon for the care.
