Thank you for your question. A chin implant will augment and strengthen the chin while defining the jawline, but it won’t lengthen its appearance. You may opt for fillers to contour your lower face. Fillers can be injected into the jawline to lift, sculpt, and define your lower face. This can help achieve better overall balance and symmetry.

To best determine the right procedure for you, I recommend scheduling an in-person consultation with an experienced, board-certified facial plastic surgeon who can do a proper evaluation of your face, answer all your questions, and customize the best procedure plan for you.

Facial sculpting and contouring of the face can be created with well-placed fillers (Voluma, Contour, Radiesse, Bellafill) and Sculptra, which would give improvement in facial balance. In general, 3D imaging and computer simulation can help to explore the impact of changes from a variety of angles. This allows you to make better decisions for potential treatments.

That being said, at your age, you can expect some sharpening of the jawline contour in the next few years, and with it, a change in the perception of the chin.

My advice would be to refrain from any intervention at this stage, or to use injectable filler as a treatment which is reversible in case you change your mind about the desired aesthetic balance.

Implants are not the best technique to lengthen the chin. The muscle attachments beneath the chin limit any vertical lengthening. A genioplasty can be performed to lengthen the chin up to 15 mm. This will diminish the depth of your mentolabial fold, Sometimes a graft is recommended.

If you were to come to my office asking this question, I would not recommend a chin implant. Although it's hard to make a recommendation based on the limited photos, Botox can slim the face slightly on a temporary basis. Consult with a reputable Facial Plastic Surgeon in person for the best advice
