Scab like marks - can anything be done to treat this?

Hi,i had Otoplasty 8years ago but it has always left me with these marks that make me very self conscious. They look like small scabs or trapped dirt under the skin. I got the surgery in Australia so don’t have easy access to my surgeon but hoping that someone knows what is and if anything can be done, thanks!

You can certainly do wrestling or boxing after an otoplasty, but it's best to always wear headgear. You want to try to prevent a cauliflower ear from trauma to the ears

You may want to go back to your surgeon to discuss this issue. The excess skin, particularly in the first photo, would most likely need to be removed with surgery. The second photo shows more swelling, which may improve on its own with recovery.

I charge $3,500 for an otoplasty and the procedure is done in the office under local anesthesia instead of general anesthesia. It can be done under general anesthesia but it would cost more. Best Wishes, Gary Horndeski, M.D.

Each surgeon determines their own pricing, therefore it would be difficult to give you an average. Typically, however, the cost is based on the area targeted. So, for example, you would be looking at earlobe surgery.

When conchal cartilage is harvested for revision rhinoplasty surgery, there is usually no change in the appearance of somebody's ear. I understand that you are having an issue with the appearance of your ear, however, it's not clear from your photographs what is making you most self-conscious....
