I am 46 years old, I had an upper and lower Bleph with fat transfer. It's been 6 months and scars are healing but I see retraction on my lower lids. My original surgeon (Ocular Plastics) has offered to redo the fat transfer only under anesthesia. He said it would fix my lower lids but I'm concerned it will actually draw my lid down further. Is this worth trying before going to a new surgeon? My recovery was a traumatic 6 weeks and I have a very forward facing profession.

Answer: Unfortunately fat grafting will not fix this.
The steroids are effective at reducing inflammation but they also kill fat and unnecessarily hollow the eyelids. There are better options if you in fact need inflammation managed. However, sometimes less is more. You are two months out. You could have reconstructive surgery as early as month 4...
Eyelid retraction is a complicated condition. This often is caused from over-resection of skin. Correction often involves a lower lid spacer graft (hard palate or alloderm) and canthoplasty. Best to see an eyelid expert.
