I have visibly uneven eyes that make me look unattractive, and tired. I feel one eyelid heavier than the other. I’m 18. Do I need surgery?

Some surgeons prefer to give a dose of antibiotics in the OR and may also prescribe antibiotics after surgery for precaution.  Given your negative reaction to medications in the past, I recommend you discuss your options with your surgeon.

It looks like you have very thin skin, allowing the veins under your skin to be visible. The only way to improve them is with a YAG laser. It is usually quite effective and should last a very long time.Andrew Campbell, M.D.Quintessa

In South Korea, the lateral canthoplasty is actually a tissue advancement intended to make the eyes look bigger. In Western countries canthoplasty is a lower eyelid resuspension method to strengthen the insertion of the eyelid on the bone. I understand the rationale for these Korean surgeries....

In general it is safe especially if done under local anesthesia but best to have evaluation by specialist to determine.
