Blue, purple, red veins appeared around my eye sockets & eyelids. What could be the problem and solution? (Photos)

I’m not sure what has caused my eyes to get like this. I’ve always had dark circles around my eyes since I was a child, though. I’m 24 now and I’ve been working night shift for 3 years, so I haven’t been getting a lot of sunlight which has caused my skin to become more pale. I haven’t tried to fix the problem yet but I’m open to solutions or what could be causing this to happen. I’m concerned If I do not fix this problem then it will keep getting worse and turn into something more serious.

It looks like you have very thin skin, allowing the veins under your skin to be visible. The only way to improve them is with a YAG laser. It is usually quite effective and should last a very long time.Andrew Campbell, M.D.Quintessa

Hi.  It looks like you have normal veins together with fairly translucent skin.  If they bother you, and you don't want to simply use a cosmetic cover-up, you could have the veins treated with laser.  See a Board-certified plastic surgeon or dermatologist with laser experience in your area.

There are a variety of minimally invasive treatments for these periocular veins. The quickest and easiest treatment would be a laser procedure to decrease their appearance. A YAG laser is most popular for this issue.
