However, the body eventually breaks down and metabolizes the botulinum toxin, which means the effects of Botox are not permanent. Typically, the effects of Botox last for about 3-6 months, depending on the patient. While the majority of the Botox is eventually eliminated from the body, it's possible that tiny amounts may persist for a longer period.
