Can I achieve a more V-Line face shape with masseter Botox? (photos)

Question

I would like to have a more V-line face shape and am considering Masseter Botox. I visualized my desired effect with FaceTune and am wondering if this is achievable with Botox.

Masseter Botox can definitely help decrease the size of the masseter muscles. However, it does take some time to see the effect. The muscles atrophy over time, and this typically requires multiple sessions of Botox. Jawline contouring may also be an option. We essentially shave and contour down the jawbone to decrease its overall width, creating a slimmer appearance. This is more of a long-term solution, if your are considering any surgical options. This is my expertise and a huge portion of my practice. Asymmetry is normal and expected. Buccal fat pad gives slimming not symmetry. Masseter botox will make you slimmer and make the jawline more loose. Fillers help give shaping and contouring. If you want perfect or close to perfect symmetry you need maxillofacial surgery or implants customized. I suggest seeing an expert to go through all options. Most of my younger clients use fillers to give them shaping especially on the cheeks, jawline, and chin which make the face look more slim and tight; and threads such as PDO or Instalift can build collagen and support the facial shaping and skin looseness over time, slowing down the aging process and given the face a more “snatched” look; and morpheus8 or PiXel8 deep microneedling RF can tighten crepe skin especially on the neck and jawline and is great for long term tightening of the full face, neck and chest; its often used to give the face a slimmer more sculpted look because it tightens the skin and gives lift. an early face lift can be performed as well even in younger clients if they want a different facial shape, maxillofacial surgery with bone breaking or shaving can also be done. For facial slimming a combination of treatments are always needed. Options include: 1. Buccal fat pad removal to reduce fat on the lower face 2. Factite or Renuvion/J Plasma to tighten the lower face, jawline, and chin to reduce fat and give the jawline and neck tightening and shaping. 3. Botox to the masseter to reduce the muscular size of the jaw giving the face an illusion of being more slender 4. Before jumping into injecting your massesters and perhaps affecting your ability to chew or developing looser hanging skin over the jawline as a result of shrinking the masseters, you would be wise to consult a board certified cosmetic dermatologist filler expert about an HA filler cheek augmentation  By volumizing what appears in the photos provided to be volume deficit in the upper outer cheeks (particularly over the zygoma regions), a more heart shaped, oval feminine face would be created and the lift achieved by so doing would also likely achieve the kind of V-line you are writing about. An in person evaluation is best to determine if you are a good candidate, but Botox injected into the masseter muscles can give the jawline a slimmer appearance.  The final results are seen after two weeks and last approximately three to four months.  See an expert injector to learn more.

In order to determine if you will have a much slimmer face after injecting masseter muscles with Botox, you need to be evaluate it in person to see how much masseter muscle bulk is present at this time.
