Thank you for this question. With all the non-surgical treatments these days, this is a very pertinent question. There is no absolute answer because it depends where and now much was done. In general however, botox is used in the upper face and long as the effect is desirable, it would not affect the ability to have a lower face and neck lift. The treatment would need to be continued to maintain the result though. If the plan is for a forehead lift however, I would prefer waiting 6 months for an accurate assessment before surgery. Fillers are most often placed in the mid face and around the mouth area where the facelift has the least effect on adding volume. This does not preclude the ability to have a facelift, but more filler (or fat) may be required to maintain the same effect over time. In reality, volume enhancement is still necessary after a facelift in many cases anyway and also to maintain desirable proportions as we continue to age. Most thread lift procedures utilize dissolving sutures that are mostly absorbed within 6 months. Regardless, having remaining suture is not a contraindication to surgery, especially if the results are not adequate. Keep in mind that the effect of botox and fillers will continue to diminish over time and can be adjusted periodically as needed. One exception would be permanent fillers that may need to be surgically excised if they are produce an undesirable effect. My best to you, Dr. Fink
