Tingly pins and needles feeling after my FUT Hair transplant, is this normal?

Hi! I had my hair transplant 12 days ago (FUT). Now I suddnly starts that tingly feeling pins n needles effects from my donor area to the recepient area (hairlines). Normally it doesnt stay in one area and continues to travel frm donor to recepient area. It becomes severe during sleep. Is this normal?

Hello and thank you for your question. It is not uncommon this early after your hair transplant procedure to have tingly and some sharp shooting pain. This is often related to the numbing agent used and the nerves beginning to respond again. Should you have any concern about this I would recommend you following up with your surgeon. This is not unusual and is likely due to regrowth of nerves.  This sensation will go away as sensation returns.

The feeling of pins and needles occur sometimes in the recipient area and some times in the donor area and it reflects some trauma to the small nerves that are in the area of the surgery
