Yes, you can combine these treatments and we do so quite often and effectively. The CO2 laser is remarkable at reducing the appearance of scars and the RF microneedling is great for improving textural issues. To top it off, the channels the microneedling RF creates in the skin allows the PRP to penetrate and assist in the healing much more swiftly. This is a safe combination provided it is done by an experienced provider, along with a guided skin care regimen to follow the treatment for 1-2 weeks.
Fractional CO2 laser is an excellent tool for skin rejuvenation in our center in Santa Monica. We use the fractional multi-depth ablative approach to help resurface the skin, recontour acne scars, improve incisional plastic surgery scars, and reduce surface irregularities from skin tone to dark pigmentation. Our approach utilizes a multi-depth approach that targets melanocytes in the epidermis and collagen fibroblasts in the dermis. This approach can be combined with a TCA Peel in a process known as a sapphire peel. Fractional laser is excellent for acne scars and contour scars in the skin. Patients are advised to undergo skin protocols with Melarase creams before and after treatment to help reduce pigmentation. Melarase AM, Melarase PM, and Melapads can seriously improve surface sun damage and UV related pigmentation. After the laser, we expect redness for a few weeks as the skin improves. PRP and Hydrafacial enzyme facials can further improve skin quality after fractional co2. Best,Dr. Karamanoukian Realself100 Surgeon
In my opinion, it is possible to combine RF micro-needling (infini) with fractional laser. We then inject PRP and use a PRP mask.. The PRP mask is repeated on the second postoperative day.The entire procedure is done in one session. Sometimes, we add subcision prior to The micro needling if there are many tethered scars. We have obtained nice results with the combination and it necessitates fewer treatments. Find an acne scar expert. Ask to see photos.
A combination of fractional CO2 or fractional RF combined with PRP microneedling and subscision is great for acne scars depending on the severity and type of acne scars. in some cases ice pick scars require excision with a punch biopsy to improve.
Hello tehreemumer,RF needling and PRP when combined with CO2 improves healing time and provides superior results for acne scars. Our current CO2 protocol recommends a pre-CO2, "get the skin ready" skin care program for a minimum of 8 weeks. On treatment day we may first perform a meso treatment of PRP mixed with skin booster HA, then RF Viva micro needle, followed by fractionated CO2. PRP and growth factor can be applied immediately after CO2. It's suggested you then continue with daily growth serum. Additional treatments may include undermining and filling of scars. Remember that everyone is unique and the best results will be based on a comprehensive treatment plan tailored to you that may take a few years to complete.
We often do combine fractional co2 or erbium with RF needling and PRP, tailoring the device to the type of scar and depth treated. It just needs to be performed by an experienced scar specialist so do your research. Best wishes, Shobhan.
PRP, Radiofrequency and CO2 laser treatments are all good for acne scar treatments and are even better when used in combination. I would not do all those treatments on the same day--that would be too much! Maybe combine the PRP with the CO2 and alternate that with an RF treatment every 6 to 8 weeks for a total of 6 treatments. After that you will probably need to do maintenance treatments, maybe once or twice a year. It just depends on how well your skin responds, how your overall general health is, how well you take care of your skin etc. You will see some improvement, how much improvement is the million dollar question.Hope this is helpful. Best regards,Dr. Amy
