Could a rhinoplasty with cartilage grafts reduce epicanthic folds? (Photos)
CONTEXT: Hi dear doctors. I am a 25-year-old Hazara man from Afghanistan. I have a mix of eastern and western features though they incline more towards eastern. My eyes are normal size, almond shape and I have a kind of epicanthic fold that partially covers the inner canthus. It is like the upper eyelid crease is distincticve from my eye for the most part but just in the very beginning of the inner canthus area, the crease is attatched to the eye itself. So, it is a partially connected double eyelid. Not a monolid and not a totally separate double eyelid. My eyes are moderately deep-set but not deep-set like south Asians and not protruding eyes like some east Asians. My nasal bridge is straight and not flat and not a very high one like northern europe. Like, in the middle. QUESTION: If I do a rhino plasty with a cartilage graft to increase the nasal bridge height, will it pull the skin of the nose upwards enough to reduce/remove the epicanthic fold? Because, when i pull the skin on my nose bridge just a bit, the epicanthic fold disappears. I would really appreciate your guidance. Thank you very much.
