Can I do a peel like vi peel if I'm taking low dose Accutane? I have melasma and I've had vi peel years ago and it worked great.

I am currently taking 10mg-20mg of accutane every other week to control oil production. I have melasma and I had great results with vipeel years ago. I have done a couple of dermapen treatment but no improvement at all in pigmentation.

Degreasing works well but you would have to be careful not to sensitize your skin. Best to have the skin specialist degrease your skin. In our office, we have patients use the Melapads twice daily to help exfoliate and provide daily peeling to rejuvenate prior to a chemical peel...

At this point, I would opt for lighter chemical peels to exfoliate damaged skin + application of Melarase creams to help improve skin discoloration and melasma. Best, Dr. Karamanoukian Los Angeles

In our office, we typically ask patients to use a ceramide cream after a chemical peel to help improve the skin's moisture barrier function. Our choice is the Elevase cream. In addition, light chemical peels afterwards and Melarase for discoloration can help. Best, DR....
