Answer: Beard Transplant to hide Acne Scars Yes, you can raise a beard slightly on each side to hide acne scars. If you already have a full beard, an FUE procedure from your scalp may not be the best idea, as the hairs do not change character. So, if you have thin hair shaft diameters on your scalp, the beard hair will tend to look a bit thin. With a full beard, there are other options for transplant. You can take a small linear strip from either side burn, and from the crease just below the chin. In this fashion, a surgeon is able to take natural beard hair and raise up the lateral borders of your beard on each cheek to hide your acne scars.

Answer: Yes and No If you are having hair transplanted to the face to grow a beard it MAY hide the acne scars depending on how long you keep your beard. If you have the transplant and shave or keep your beard short to a stubble, it probably will not hide the scar.Scalp MicroPigment to the face (beard) can also hide the scar by providing the look of a 5 o clock shadow.

Answer: Acne Scars on the face This can be treated with hair transplants, or even better with scalp micropigmentation - SMP (a non-surgical solution. We have done many of these SMP procedures on beards and unless you need a complete replacement of a large section of your beard of mustache, the SMP procedures can not be differentiated from hair.

Answer: Beard transplant There are two different techniques to harvest the hair for beard transplant. If done correctly in the hands of a skilled hair transplant surgeon, the scar from both procedure is very minimal and almost impossible to see. After the harvesting, a skilled doctor should know how to follow the directions of the hair, make a design that would make it look very natural and blend in to your own existing beard.

Answer: Hair Transplantation to cover Facial Acne Scars Yes, it is possible. I perform both FUT and FUE. I also perform this surgery to cover the scars of cleft lips. Scarring is minimal with both procedures if performed properly. There is still a lot of confusion about scarring with FUE and FUT. Both will leave a scar in the donor area. The skill of the surgeon is what will determine the resultant scar with each procedure. Careful handling of grafts is important for hair graft survival. Some of the machines that automate the FUE procedure like the Neograft machine subject the hair follicles to trauma as well as air drying. That negatively effects graft survival. If performed correctly (minimal trauma and air drying) FUE graft survival is about 90%. Please visit the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgeons for more information. Also, graft placement depth is critical to great results and cannot be achieved by "blowing" grafts into a recipient site as this would negatively impact the cosmetic results.
