Hello and thank you for the question. The Brazilian butt lift has become one of the most popular procedures today. The procedure is a combination of liposuction and fat transfer. The surgery is done under full anesthesia, and takes about 2+ hours to complete. Most patients will need 1-2 weeks off of work and about 1-2 months before you resume exercise. The success depends on both you and the plastic surgeon. Your underlying health, available fat, skin tightness and elasticity, and the size / shape of your buttocks will affect the quality of the outcome. The plastic surgeon's skills, experience and judgement in this procedure will also be key factors in the quality of your outcome. Remember that some of the fat that is transferred does not survive. Typically about 70% of the fat lasts long term.As far as safety is concerned, the most important safety factor is the doctor. Make sure you are choosing a board certified plastic surgeon in your area who does these procedures routinely. Make sure that the surgery is being performed in a fully licensed surgery center or hospital. If you are not sure, ask for the credentialing. AAAHC and AAAASF, JHACO are examples of certifying organizations. A quick google search will let you know if your doctor uses a certified center or not. There are many ways to do liposuction and bbl. each doctor will use what he/she thinks works best for their patients. Look at before and afters to see if the results speak for themselves. Beware if the after pics are "shiny". A shiny butt is stretched and new. That is an early swollen photo. a true after photo needs to be taken at least 3-4 months after surgery to allow the early swelling to resolve. By then, the skin is dry and not shiny anymore. Best to you#brazilianbuttlift
