Genioplasty - is my goal attainable? (photos)

Question

Looking for Feedback on Genioplasty I’ve seen a maxillofacial surgeon as I feel I have a very recessed jaw/chin. They said I didn’t need it. The first picture you can see on one side how I look, the second one is my worst angle as my chin disappears into my neck. I personally think it’s a weak chin and fat/excess skin even though I’m 110 pounds. I have genioplasty schedule for next week and I’m hoping to get the results in my 3 edited picture. Do you think this is attainable?

You definitely need more chin. It isn't going to be an easy fix, which is often why providers say you don't need a procedure. Depending on how your teeth align, you may need jaw surgery. Other consideration is if this has been a progressive displacement of your lower jaw as that can point to other things that may need to be evaluated. You would probably do best with jaw surgery, but hard to tell just from pictures. Augmenting the chin would be my recommendation with or without jaw surgery, part of it just depends on your overall goal, which is where a simulation can help. If your goal is the pic on the far right, you could probably do that with an implant or genioplasty.

Based on these photos, there is no doubt that you have small jaw and chin. Chin augmentation by means of sliding genioplasty or implant augmentation, would provide improvement close to your desired result. Good luck.
