I had a septorhinoplasty on December 16, 2022. My nose appears to be extremely crooked. Is this swelling or is my nose actually crooked? I have included a photo from before my surgery to compare.

Answer: Crooked or Swelling Hi there! Thanks for your photos and questions. At 6 months post-op, we would expect there to be swelling still. The nose is undergoing changes to finalize itself through 12-15 months post-op. If there is some crookedness, it could be pre-existing. I often employ nightly taping and compressions toward the opposite direction if I notice any curvature. This often helps to encourage the skin and cartilage to "scar" in the appropriate direction. I would continue follow-up with your surgeon and voice any concerns you may have. Hope this helps!
