I am aged 44 with darker skin. Will the Venus Viva cause any hyperpigmentation, or "needlepoint" scarring?

I have Indian subcontinental skin. I have some skin discolouration due to hormones. I have used Retin A for years, and have glycolic acid, microdermabrasion, or papaya enzyme peels during the winter months. Am I at risk of hyperpigmentation from the Venus viva?fat loss in eye or cheek area - will I be left with a few "sunken hollows"? I have never had a sunburn but I've been told that the Venus Viva is like having a sunburn for about 24 hours - will that cause pigment problems?

This is completely normal and I am upset that your provider didn't discuss the post operative phase with you and what to expect.  These "microscabs" will exfoliate over the next week, you should be doing wound care and helping these scabs fall off by doing enzymatic exfoliation and healing...

Swelling after intense ablative RF is not uncommon. I recommend that patients use Elevase Moisture Booster to help soothe the skin; followed by SwellX to help with swelling if needed. Best Dr. KaramanoukianRealself100 Surgeon

Dear patient, swelling and edema is common after venus viva treatments in the facial area. I suggest that you call your dermatologist and ask about taking an oral anti-inflammatory such as Advil. Oral Arnica and cool compresses also help. Please make sure that you sleep with a couple of pillows...
