My sides are really lumpy and cellulite-looking after BBL. I am 9 days post op so I know it's really early. Will this go away? Is there anything I can do to help diminish this other than the massages, which I am already getting? See photos.
Answer: My sides are lumpy and cellulite-looking after BBL. Any suggestions? It is always best to ask your PS when you have concerns with results. From looking at your photos, I will say everything looks normal for early in the healing process. Lumps and bumps are common and do get better with time. I recommend that my patients start professional lymphatic massages starting at week 2 after surgery (just in the liposuction areas not the areas of fat transfer), 1-2 per week for 4-6 weeks. You can also look into Endermologie. If you don't intervene early this can become permanent so don't wait longer than 3 months.

Answer: BBL Thank you for your question and pictures. It is way too early to determine final results. However, I do have all my BBL patients self massage their fat harvest areas as soon as they can tolerate it to speed up the healing process and usually take care of these swelling irregularities.

Answer: Lumpy sides after liposuction If you're already getting lymphatic drainage massages, unfortunately there isn't much else that you can do. The lumps and bumps that you feel are pieces of scar tissue that your body formed from the procedure. The feeling in your skin and the lumpiness should all return to normal after you've healed for a bit longer.Thank you for your question and for sharing your pictures!Melinda Lacerna, MD FACS

Answer: Lumpy after BBL Since you are only about 9 days post-op it is too early to tell. It may be related to swelling. If concerned, speak with your surgeon.
