Each surgery carries similar and different risks. Please consult with a board certified plastic surgeon to discuss your options and concerns. Regards,
Each surgery has its own specific risks but the most important ones are DVT (blood clots), fat emboli and pulmonary emboli. Consult with a few plastic surgeons in person for more information and specifics.Best wishes,Dr.Bruno
This is a complex question and needs to be addressed according to your anatomy and medical history.Kenneth Hughes, MDBeverly Hills, CA
Great Question -There are risks with every/any surgery. Your risks are never zero. Mild discomfort in the abdomen and buttock is normal; however, if major discomfort is experienced in either of or other regions of the body, following the surgery, than it is important to consult your doctor. Infection is a risk, but very few cases turn up with infection.Fat reabsorption is a possibility. Fat reabsorption, in the case of a Brazilian Butt Lift, is when the buttock absorbs the injected fat more than intended. The result is typically anywhere from 65 to 85 percent of the volume transferred during surgery. There is, also, the risk the results desired are not achieved. This is particularly true of patients with unrealistic expectations. It is also true of patients not already living a healthy lifestyle. The doctor, in such cases, will work with the patient to achieve acceptable results. The worst complications include medical risks such as organ injury, blood clots in legs which travel to the lungs, fat entering the bloodstream and traveling to the lungs, and even death.Best advice is to schedule a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon. Which is the first step to learn not only if a tummy tuck might be right for you, but also how abdominal contour surgery or a tummy tuck can improve your body image and abdominal contour. A consultation is designed to fully educate you about the procedure in a non-pressured environment, and will include:Discussion of your goals and evaluation of your individual caseOptions available in tummy tuck surgeryLikely outcomes and risks/potential complicationsThe course of treatment recommended by your board certified plastic surgeon- Frederick G. Both surgeries (especially if liposuction is done as part of your tummy tuck) have similar risks such as pain, infection, bleeding, scar, damage to surrounding tissue, seroma, hematoma, DVT/PE, surface irregularities, and asymmetry.BBL has some unique possible complications such as fat embolism.Tummy tuck has a long incision, so more likely to have wound healing problems than a BBL. It is best to spend some time discussing all of this with your PS before decided what is best for you.
Hello and thank you for your question. Both surgeries have unique risks and you should weigh the pros and cons of each procedure along with your candidacy for them with your chosen plastic surgeon. I highly encourage you to seek consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon with expertise in advanced body contouring techniques for the best advice and planning with your safety in mind. Good luck to you and I hope this helps!Sincerely,Dr. Sean Kelishadi
BBL and TT are both safe procedures and one is not more risky than the other. Please see example of patient who had both performed simultaneously.
It’s frustrating to face delays when you’ve already invested so much in preparing for your surgery. Since your primary care provider is unwilling to clear you until a week before, one option is to contact Dr. Salama’s office and explain the situation. They may be able to work with you on adjus...

Your question contains two questions in one:- How much healing takes place in 2-3 weeks?- how much am I risking by sitting in a narrow airplane seat for 7-10 hours at a time?As with everything we do in life it comes to a risk-benefit analysis. How much gain to how much risk.Brazilian Butt Lift...
