What procedure can be done to show less of the inside of my nostrils?

The reason why you see too much of your nostrils is the result of several issues. The cartilages that make up the lower aspect of your nose are rotated to high toward your eyes or top of your face. As a result, this pulls up on the nostrils which creates more flaring or show. Also, if your septum is long as may be the case, that is the center of your nose, this could cause your nostrils to be more visible on a side or profile view. It can be a combination of these factors as well. The procedure to correct it would be to do a rhinoplasty in order to lessen the amount of nostrils that are visible by possibly shortening your septum and/or bringing down the cartilages that form the side of the nostrils.

You have a dorsal hump that is causing tension on the nasal tip and pulling the nostrils wider open.  Reducing the Dorsal hump will relax tension on the nostrils and will make them appear more appropriate.RegardsDr. J

Nostril size is a common complaint amongst rhinoplasty patients. In order to get a concrete answer about how to correct your concerns, I would suggest seeking out a board certified surgeon with expertise in rhinoplasties. Generally speaking, if the nostril flair is too wide that can sometimes be corrected by removal of some tissue at the base (where the nostril attaches to the lip). Modification of the shape or size of the nostrils can often satisfy the overall aesthetic of the nose. Good luck!

blairfl, as usual an exam is the ultimate for planning surgery but it does appear you have flaring of your nostrils and a hanging infratip. These typically can be improved without too much healing. See an experienced surgeon that does "only faces". Good luck!
