A faja or a compression garment will not ruin any effects of liposuction.  It can help decrease swelling and possibly help with "coaching" the skin to  shrink where you want it to, but don't worry about ruining the liposuction work.  The swelling will all slowly disappear with time.  During this time different areas may swell different amounts.  Be patient and your results will show in a few more months!Seek a plastic surgeon certified by The American Board of Plastic Surgery for your best education and options.

Liposuction results in swelling for 6-12 weeks after the procedure. Many patients notice a dent in the waistline if they wear a tighter waistband one day. This indicates the swelling is still there. While you do not want a constant dent over weeks, the garment should fit smoothly. If it feels too tight, then it is. Tighter is not better, the skin needs support but you should still be able to move comfortably in the garment. Follow up with your PS regularly. They can evaluate the recovery for you and tell you when to switch garment sizes.
